Families choose an educator level, book online tutoring sessions, and receive academic support based on the student’s grade, subject, and goals.
Is tutoring online or in person?
Forge is currently online based service, allowing students to receive support from home.
What grades do you support?
Forge supports students in Grades 4–12.
What subjects do you offer?
We support English, Math, Science, Social Studies, Languages, ADST, Arts Education, Career Education, University Prep, and Advanced/Specialist subjects.
How do I choose the right tutor level?
Families can choose from Junior Tutor, Senior Tutor, Certified Educator, Forge Tenured Educator, or Specialist based on the student’s needs and family budget.
What is the difference between the tutor levels?
Tutor levels are based on experience, credentials, and subject expertise. University tutors are more affordable, while certified teachers and specialists provide more advanced or professional support.
Are Forge educators background checked?
Yes. All Forge tutors and educators are background checked and reviewed before working with students.
Can I choose my tutor?
Yes, families can choose from available educators based on subject, level, availability, and fit.
Can I switch tutors?
Yes. If the fit is not right, Forge can help match your child with another educator.
How long are sessions?
Sessions are one hour blocks but can be booked back to back if longer is needed.
How do payments work?
Families purchase tutoring through Forge’s online system. Billing and scheduling are handled through the platform.
Do you help with test prep?
Yes. Forge can support school tests, provincial assessments, AP, SAT/ACT, TOEFL, and other advanced preparation needs.
Do you support students with learning differences?
Yes, Forge can provide academic support for students with different learning needs, but tutoring is not a clinical or diagnostic service. It is best practice to inform the Forge Academics team before booking with a tutor.
What is curriculum-based instruction?
Curriculum-based instruction means Forge tutors teach directly to the material, skills, and types of questions your child is learning in school.
Rather than using a generic mastery program or a separate workbook sequence, Forge support is built around your child’s actual course, grade level, assignments, tests, and curriculum expectations. This helps tutoring feel more relevant, practical, and connected to what students need to succeed in class.
Does online tutoring actually work?
Yes, online tutoring can work very well when it is structured, consistent, and delivered by a qualified tutor. The format matters less than the quality of instruction, the relationship with the tutor, and whether the sessions are connected to what the student is learning in school.
